Parkour-Parkour (sometimes abbreviated to PK) or l'art du déplacement (the art of movement) is an activity with the aim
of moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using principally the abilities of the human
body. It is meant to help one overcome obstacles, which can be anything in the surrounding environment—from branches
and rocks to rails and concrete walls—and can be practiced in both
rural and
urban areas. Parkour practitioners are
referred to as traceurs, or traceuses for females.Founded by
David Belle in France, parkour focuses on practicing efficient
movements to develop one's
body and
mind to be able to overcome obstacles in an
emergency.

Freerunning-Free running is a
physical art, in which participants (free runners) use the
urban and
rural areas to perform
movements through its structures focused on freedom and beauty. It incorporates efficient movements from
parkour, adds
aesthetic vaults and other
acrobatics, such as
tricking and
street stunts, creating an athletic and aesthetically pleasing way
of moving. It is commonly practiced at gymnasiums and in urban areas that are cluttered with obstacles.
there are no requirements for either sport, although it helps a LOT if you can run, jump and do stuff.
special thanks to http://www.reference.com for definitions of these two wonderful activities.

I know I have not updated in a while. I've been busy.
Upon the very useful request, I will be adding a page devoted to finding other traceurs in your area! Cities will be defaulted, but others may be added if one contacts me. Some of the cities I will have added automatically will be, Lincoln, Omaha, Wayne, Grand Island, among others. Be sure to check it out!

As you may know, it is winter here in this great state of Nebraska, so that means little or, more likely, no parkour outside.
Also, if you may just so happen to know any martial artist gyms or clubs or whatever, please let me know if they would be
interested in teaching a parkour class, or just lend their equipment and gym toward the activity of parkour and freerunning.
If they are interested, please let me know ASAP so I will have ample time to get a club together so we may train. AND,
this is important, if the martial arts guy wants a big class, please let he or she know that it is better to have a lot small
groups instead of just one big herd. Parkour is a self-indulged sport best learned by oneself, for it is more a self learned
experience than a classroom one, and, if it is a big herd, it stops the focus on the learning, and people try to show off and
just look for the next big jump. it just derails the focus and ruins the focus.
All in all, its cold, its gonna get warmer, and i was wondering if anyone knew any gyms interested in parkour/freerunning.
